Coastal Carolina University sits on the edge of Conway and offers musical, film, dance, cultural and theatrical experiences at its Wheelwright Auditorium. Yearly, the Wheelwright Cultural Arts Series focuses on the music literature and dance of national, as well as international cultures. Coastal Carolina University’s theatre department performs several popular and newly created theatrical performances not only open to the students, but the public as well. The university also equips a beautiful gallery displaying artistic creations of students and special showings of traveling pieces.

Thespians will be glad to know that the cultural climate in Conway is thriving. The Theatre of the Republic offers community theatre at it finest with its beautifully restored historical Main Street Theatre, which houses these performances. Popular Broadway plays are performed, as well as musicals and film adaptations.
