Conway Area Chamber of Commerce Accepting Nominations For Community Awards

Awards To Be Presented During Chamber’s Annual Meeting On October 18

The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce is currently seeking nominations for four community awards, which will be presented during the Chamber’s upcoming Chamber Choice Awards Ceremony and Annual Meeting on Thursday, October 18, at Horry Georgetown Technical College at 5:30 p.m. in Café 1100. The awards include the LaVerne H. Creel Lifetime Achievement Award, which is given to one individual who has willingly devoted heart and soul to the betterment of the Conway area; The Sun News Rod & Harold McCown Service Award, which is presented to one woman and one man for their dedication and service to the community; and Youth Leader of the Year, which is presented to someone who has made a positive and considerable impact on the advancement of our community’s youth.

Nomination forms can be picked up at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce office or downloaded online at www.conwayscchamber.com. All nominations should be sealed and mailed or delivered to the Chamber office no later than September 19, 2007.

The Annual Meeting will also recognize the Chamber Board of Directors, new Chamber members, as well as volunteers within the organization. The event will include a reception, silent auction and a grand prize drawing at the end of the awards ceremony. A four-passenger golf cart presented by Graham Golf Cars, Inc. will serve as the evening’s grand prize. Additional door prizes include a $500 credit towards a trip of one’s choice presented by Atlas Travel, and a Conway Area Chamber of Commerce membership promotional packet valued at over $2,000.

Tickets to the Annual Meeting are available for purchase at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce office for $25 per person. For more information on the annual event or to purchase a ticket, contact the Conway Chamber office at 248-2273.
