Chamber Helps Employees Of The Rivertown Bistro

CONWAY MAIN STREET USA, THE CONWAY AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND HISTORIC DISTRICT ARTISTS HOST FUND RAISER FOR RIVERTOWN BISTRO EMPLOYEE EMERGENCY FUND (BEEF)

Conway Main Street USA, The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce and Conway’s Historic District Artists are now coordinating the Rivertown Bistro Employee Emergency Fund (BEEF), with all proceeds benefiting the unemployed staff of the Rivertown Bistro, which burned in an early morning fire on January 31. The fundraising drive will begin Saturday, February 2, 2008, at the First Saturday Art Walk in downtown Conway. During the event, donations will be accepted at all participating art galleries. Donations will also be accepted following the event at the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce/Conway Main Street USA offices located at 203 Main Street, Conway. Checks should be made payable to Conway Main Street BEEF.

“It was a sad day in downtown Conway when we learned our beloved Rivertown Bistro burned,” said Barbara Streeter, one of Conway’s Historic District Artists. “The early morning fire on January 31 left nothing but rubble and a shell. Many happy memories with friends and family and celebrations of milestones in our lives have included a meal at the Bistro. We have come to know and love the food and staff; the Bistro is part of our everyday lives. We count on them to be there. Now is our opportunity to show our appreciation and to say thank you.”
