THE CONWAY CHAMBER SEEKS COMMUNITY AWARDS NOMINEES
The Conway Area Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for our Community Awards, which will be presented during our 2006 Annual Meeting on October 19, 2006. We’re very proud of these awards and take them seriously, so we’re asking your help in our selection process. Conway is very fortunate to be home to many, many people who are deserving of special recognition. So, get in those nomination forms!
The four community awards presented during the Annual Meeting are 1) Conway Youth Leader of the Year, 2) The Sun News Rod & Harold Community Service Man of the Year, 3) The Sun News Rod & Harold Community Service Woman of the Year, and 4) The LaVerne H. Creel Lifetime Achievement Award. These awards are presented in addition to other Chamber-related awards during the evening’s festivities. The recipients of these four community awards do not have to be affiliated with the Chamber at all. It can be someone’s mother, neighbor, teacher, or friend. All we ask is that your applications be submitted with your personal reasons why your nominee should be selected.
Award recipients are selected based on their involvement in and contributions to the growth of the Conway community; their civic affiliations; civic, community, and/or professional awards; as well as your reasons for submitting their nomination. Please do not let any of these categories keep you from submitting nominations. Each year, we have a variety of people from all walks of life sit on the Selection Committee. A very diversified group of individuals pour through the nomination forms and trust me, they have a challenging job and varying opinions as to what aspect is most important. A person’s education and chosen career path in this life are not necessarily their selling points. What has he/she done to make this world a bit better for a child or to redeem an undetermined social condition? What has he/she done to leave this world a bit better? This is what is important. You know who these folks are. Let us know. Inquiring minds want to know!
Forms can be picked up at our Chamber office, 203 Main Street, or, for your convenience, we can email or fax a form to you. Please send your requests to info@conwayscchamber.com or give us a call at 248-2273. The deadline for submission is September 1, 2006.
A sincere thank you for your help and for being the best hometown any one of us could ask for!
