Conway Chamber To Host Annual Meeting On October 18 And You’re Invited
Wow! Can you believe that the fall season has fallen upon us? The breeze in the air makes me want to grab a jacket and hit the outdoors. This weekend, our family will be decorating pumpkins for the porch and somehow attaching a scarecrow to our porch. Something about this time of year makes me want to eat something weighed down in cinnamon. It also makes me excited about what’s up and coming in our Chamber.
On October 18 at 5:30 p.m., the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce will host our Chamber Choice Awards, Annual Meeting and Reception at Horry Georgetown Technical College’s Café 1100. We’ll roll out the red carpet for our community award winners and we’ll be amazed by the “characters” who are attending. Yes, I said “characters.” We’ve invited a few extras this year just to keep it interesting. Herman Munster has been invited, as well as Morticia, Beetlejuice, Captain Jack Sparrow, and Glinda the Good Witch. Trust me, you’ll not want to miss these folks. They’ve been given assignments that will blow you away.
The evening will kick off in the college’s Café 1100, where we’ll have live entertainment and a silent auction, as well as an array of food and drinks themed around our favorite Halloween movies. During this time, you’ll get the chance to bid on some great auction items, as well as register for our grand door prizes, including a four-passenger golf cart donated by Graham Golf Cars, Inc. and a $500 credit towards any trip of choice provided by Atlas Travel.
Following our reception, we’ll recognize our community award winners in the Burroughs & Chapin Auditorium. What a way to say “thank you” to those who work so hard for the betterment of our community.
