Conway Chamber Invites You To Annual Reverse Raffle
Looking for something to do, let’s say mid-April? Well, the Conway Area Chamber of Commerce is planning an event that may be just what the doctor ordered. We’ll be holding our annual Reverse Raffle on Saturday, April 12 at 7 p.m. at the Waccamaw Shrine Club. Not familiar with a reverse raffle? Never participated in one before? Well, let me just explain how it all works….Surely, you’ll want to buy a ticket and be the first in line to get your two steak dinners.
Reverse Raffle tickets are $100 each. This price covers two steak dinners, live entertainment by the Paul Grimshaw Band, and the chance to win a grand prize of $5,000. We only print 200 tickets to the Chamber’s event, so you’ve already got a 1-in-200 chance to win. Yes, I did say $5,000.
After folks arrive, mingle and eat, the raffle starts by drawing out the first number. That number automatically becomes our grand loser! Yes, the LAST number in the raffle bin is the winner. Isn’t that fun? The excitement builds throughout the evening as folks hold their breath as numbers are called. The holder of every 20th number called is offered the opportunity to get ticket money back or the chance to go back into the raffle. There’s laughter, a ton of shouts and hollering, and yes, I’ve even seen some tears…
Tickets are now on sale at the Chamber office, and our Chamber Board Members are currently selling them as well. So, if your calendar isn’t already booked on April 12, join us at the Shrine Club for an evening of fun and fellowship. For more information, give us a call at 248-2273. We’re looking forward to hearing from you.
