The Coastal Winds, a small group of the University’s finest wind and percussion players, is comprised of students of all majors performing a varied repertoire. These delightful pieces are derived from the various masterworks from all styles and periods and are for mixed instrumentation ranging in numbers of five to 25 musicians. The composers of this genre include such luminaries as Mozart, Beethoven, Haydn, Gounod, Mendelssohn, Dvorak, Richard Strauss, Poulenc and Stravinsky.
